Socks
from the Toe Up
Master the generic anatomy
and techniques in this 2-hour class, in which you will knit a miniature
sock. Practice on the real thing and join our other sock adventures:
"Udderly"
Simple Socks
on 2 circulars
If
you have knit socks before and are ready for some variety in your sock
life, this is a perfect class for you. The name of this class was inspired
by a Cat Bhordi story which Mary Pat will relate as she guides you through
her favourite sock knitting.
Practice
with Double Points:
If these are your first
time socks, you will appreciate a second evening to get comfortable with
your double points before turning the heel. You may even be able
to complete your second cuff to the point of beginning the heel.
Next week , two heels
in quick succession will make you a confident heel knitter.
Comparative
Grafting
Sock knitters are constantly
seeking the ideal grafting method. In this class, Mary Pat and Patrick
will share their favourites…. both different from Gloria's method
taught in Socks 101. |
Helix
sock
When fascinating design
meets practical & economical use of materials, you have a winner.
This sock is destined
to become your new favourite! It uses an odd number of different coloured
yarns (in class you will begin with 3) to produce subtly striped
socks with no jog at the joins.

Knit a babies Tube
Sock using this technique to knit
even tiny things in
the round on one long circular needle. |
Heels:
a World View
All around the world and over the
centuries, man has dealt with the balance of movement and warmth. Sock
knitters, as the museums attest, satisfied this need very early in our
history, with well shaped heels. See heels from different times and places
and plan to add them to your repertoire in Diane’s project class in November. |
